'cmon! There has to be a major hiring in "security" for airports, ball games, disneylands. People checking if you are carrying bombs in your backpack. Anyway, there is a lot more money in people's pockets--thanks to refinancings, lower interest rates, tax rebates(although I still haven't received mine!). People are going to spend, inventories are down, and manufacturing will have to be stepped up. I don't know about the stock market short term, but the economy has just about reached bottom(and only way to go is up!). Even Milton Friedman in an article in WSJ today mentions that he expects economy to pick up in 1-2 quarters. I am happy to wait it out--and I am increasing my stock positions.
