Ok I'm out of here. I'll read the news I read and keep my opinions to myself ... you all can go back to watching your Law and Order episodes and think that everything is under control because the bad guy always goes to jail. I'm not here to be attacked. But if I had to send my son to go to war for my country I would want to know exactly what we're fighting for and how hard the battle will be and if my son will come back alive. Hell if even the American media is willing to not talk about the real issues who am I? Just a mother who loves her son.

Have a nice life everyone.

Lola:)

JB, I have personally found a lot of value in Lola's postings. She has brought a unique perspective to many issues and this thread has minimal value if the focus becomes insular. She is right on the head when she observes that we are in bed with some very bad guys in Pakistan and I am in agreement with her when she states that we should not view them as a long-term ally. The odds are that Pakistan will implode before this is over and Musharraf will be dead. Pakistani presidents historically end up either executed, exiled or jailed. India is our true ally in the region. It is the largest democracy in the world, a democracy that has evolved and thrived in a multi-cultural environment much more diverse than the U.S.

From the thread's header:
