JT, Re: Brainfood I believe I understand your points and don't particularly disagree with any of them. However, there is criticism, dissent and questioning of public positions every day in our local paper. Freedom of the press is alive and well. Now, if folks want to use this time as a forum to change policy (i.e., Middle East), it ain't going to happen. That time of questioning will come to pass, but at this time, as a nation, we are focused on attempting to remove a threat to our way of life. I have always had difficulties with the way we dole out dollars to foreign countries, commit our troops and other resources, and otherwise determine that our national interests are involved. Further, I comprehend the very fine line between one's view of a terrorist and another's view of a freedom fighter. But, that again is another issue for another time. Frankly, the US is not a culture. It is a hodge podge of cultures from all over the world. I don't really care if others in other parts of the world like "US" or not. It matters not one iota to me, and I respect their right to not like "US." However, we got enough violence over here without others exporting their violence to "US." I support any effort to eliminate any threat to our way of life. Clearly, a terrorist activity, whether home grown or foreign induced, will again occur. However, the world needs to come to single mind on this issue and jointly begin to eliminate any threat as it is identified. We can do no more or less. TB
