<History gives you the place you deserve.>

With honor and distinction protecting sons of US mothers in the hinterland of my country. A place, pride and distinction only history can bestow. No bigger pride than fighting terrorism as a front line state. Maa'm, this is no clash of civilisation otherwise food would not be delivered to poor AFGHANS. Some people want to take away that freedom we are trying to protect, most unfortunate.

Lola, you are making one huge mistake here. You obviously do not know and follow Ike Latif. His credentials concerning life, liberty, persuit of happiness, advocate of the US, family values and his humanity are VERY well known around SI. Where have you been? Your post to him was shameful.
Before you reply, please go to his thread and read all his posts since Sept. 11

I have no doubt you will feel bad for posting what you did.

Lola you are acting the fool. You don't know who you are talking to and therefore are completely lacking in the grace to distinguish who deserves respect and who does not.

Lola, Ike is one of the best people on SI. I don't believe he has ever been offensive. He's a wise man, and widely respected.

:-)

Lola,

I think you are getting a bit too wound up and its clouding your judgement. Comments like:

I wouldn't be too proud to be a Muslim right now

- directed at anyone from a certain country or religion shows that prejudice lurks close by. I think you know full well that we do not need more of that thinking, these days.

There are terrorists and madmen (and seemingly few mad women) everywhere in the world, of all races, religions, cultures and countries. Sikhs, Muslim, Catholic, Protestant, Hutus, Tutsis, Serbs, Croats etc ad infinitum have their share of evil people, and yes, even Canadian and American modern day criminals and terrorists exist.

But most people in these societies, religions and cultures are not evil people. Lumping everyone into one bucket is just wrong.

Lets save our condemnation for those who really deserve it.

... be a Muslim right now.

I'm a little slow catching up on posts today...lets just say I have been busy at the Bin Laden Liquor Site... :)

I won't try to repeat what has already been responded to this post.
I would like to point out that Pakistan is right now making a great stand in the Muslim world. They are a giant stick in the mud to those who want to tell us to "rethink Palestine". Pakistan is THE example of a country that was involved in terrorism and has chosen to condemn it and support freedom. Pakistan makes it hard for those countries fearing the "Wahhabi" thinking to justify it. Pakistan is making it very hard for those countries to reject our extended hand in treating them as a friend if they cease and fight terrorism in thier own countries. Notice that Musharraf hasn't once even hinted at giving in to any of that "Wahhabi" thinking since he committed his country to freedom. I know Pakistan is a powder keg... It appears Musharraf is doing a good job of fighting that minority. It appears that the Pakistani silent majority is taking a stand for freedom.
Furthermore...that stupid Islamic League that met last night. Where they agreed we should rethink our policy toward Palestine and they didn't want any "eye for an eye" action. We should make it clear to them that our stance (taken from a biblical reference as theirs is) isn't an eye for an eye...it is actually: "You have bruised my heel. Now I will crush your head."

Lola,

Iqbal Latif is a man of peace. Not only that, but a very wise one at that who has a rare ability to see the conflicts from a point of view many of us do not understand.

He has been very patient in explaining this to SI members for some time. I am sure I speak for many that we are most grateful for his views and want him to continue.

Please review your comments. If you should reconsider, please make sure we all know.
