"as something that is somehow part of Islam's nature."

It may infact be something that is part of the geopolitical nature of some percentage of thirdworld culture in which Islam happens to be the dominant religion. If you have time to study Islam wholeistically you will see that there is but a hair's difference between Islam, Christianity, and Jewdaism. The very minute difference beween the three boils down to a perspective on what Jesus and the messengers of God represent. The principles of faith in God and for living on Earth are virtually identical.

If the Afghan/Pakistan region were all converted to Christianity, but the socio-economic conditions persisted; you would likely see no change in the culture and problems that we are witnessing today. JMO
