I'm wondering if you'd think it was enough if you were on the receiving end here in California? You'd be vocally opposing any outreach to your conquered community by the dominant culture, spending lots of time figuring out how to assimilate, I'm sure.

Especially since you like going to prison, working in the car wash (like Jim Croce did), or bussing tables and making beds. Oh yes, and because you are tempermentally suited to harvesting watermellons in 100+ deg heat of the Coachella Valley.

I'm going to go ride my bike with the farm workers who ride their bikes to their day jobs at the winery/restaurant owned by Mr. Wente. They ride their bikes because they like the exercise, like I do, I'm sure. Funny though, they seem to prefer really inexpensive Walmart models to my $600 Trek bike. But we are just different that way.

I know that's why I would ride to work, especially on the really hot days. It isn't because I can't afford a car.

Life is great here in California. Especially when you've been assimilated by those great English-speaking people with that great culture. You feel bad because you know they don't like your language or the fact that you just don't choose to learn their language. It's really hard dealing with all that disappointment you create in those of the dominant culture.
