Flap,

I'm not naive enough to think that any corporation in this country -- any corporation -- would use a tax windfall to benefit the rank and file.

Thsi basic philosophy on which you base your statement is also a fundamental tenet of Karl Marx: that the haves will always stick it to the have nots. It creates victims.

On the other hand, a fundamental tenet of capitalism is the profit motive. Profits are used to expand business and ultimately create more jobs. Healthy competition tends to keep both corporations and employees on their toes. Employees of today are mobile and empowered.

How much did they pay Bill Gates last year?

You may also want to reconsider some of your comments regarding CEO pay. Many corporations go out of business every year, many because of poor decisions at the top. The result is ZERO jobs and ZERO pay for the rank and file. Generally you get what you pay for.

As always a pleasure
Hammer

A wise man once said...A business has never closed its doors because the workers were not making enough money...But every business that DID go out of business was because the ENTREPENEUR was not making enough money....
