The "Palestinians" just cant help themselves from demonstrating against the United States?

If this wasnt so serious, it would be hilarious.
perhaps this is the blueprint for how not to get a state.
Not that it would be anything but a launch pad for continued terror.

Palestinians demonstrate against attacks on Afghanistan

Thousands of Palestinians demonstrated Friday in Nablus and Ramallah in protest of the U.S. attacks on Afghanistan, and some protesters called out against the United States, Israel Radio reported. Senior Fatah officials participated in the demonstrations.

Some 1,000 protesters marched along Ramallah's streets, led by Fatah leader in the West Bank, Marwan Barghouti. Some 2,000 people demonstrated in Nablus, most of them Hamas members and some Fatah activists.

On Friday the Palestinian Authority declared a mosque in the Marazi refugee camp in the Gaza Strip a closed military zone for journalists. The Islamic Jihad planned a rally in the mosque. Palestinian sources said the mosque had been closed due to fears that the rally would turn into a demonstration in support of Osama bin Laden, and that clashes between police and demonstrators would break out.

On Monday, two Palestinian demonstrators were shot and killed by Palestinian Authority police in the Gaza Strip and another twenty Palestinian demonstrators were injured, with at least one reported to be in critical condition. The PA police gunfire was directed against demonstrators who took to the streets to protest the U.S.-led strikes in Afghanistan.

Independent observers estimated that about 25 Palestinian policemen were injured by rocks hurled by angry demonstrators.

During funerals held for the two casualties - one of them, a 13-year-old youth - hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza City and the Nuseirat refugee camp set PA police stations ablaze, shattered public telephone booths and vandalized electricity poles.

Palestinian police detain Gaza editor
Palestinian police have detained a newspaper editor in Gaza who wrote and published an article criticizing the Palestinian Authority.

The article accused the authority of turning its guns on its own people when they protested against the Afghanistan war.

Alla el Saftawi is the editor of Al Esteqlal or The Independence newspaper, which is a mouthpiece for the militant group Islamic Jihad.

In its latest edition, Mr el Saftawi says the people know it was the police who shot three people on Monday at the university protests against the Afghanistan attacks. More than 45 people were injured in the clashes

He writes that these demonstrators were doing nothing more than condemning the attacks on their Muslim brothers.

The detention of Mr el Saftawi is in line with other attempts by the Palestinian Authority to silence those who express any criticism of the attacks by the US-led alliance.

>>One can look at the patterns and targets of terrorism in other countries and then avoid similar places in this country...<

Your interesting suggestion prompted me to think about acts of terrorism in Israel and where they occurred:

suicide bombers on public buses
suicide bombers in public markets
pipe bombs in public trash cans
bombs on public beaches
suicide bombing in pizza place
drive=by shootings
suicide bomber at youth night club
Bus stop shootings
bus stop suicide bombers
terrorists take over public school (maalot)
Terrorists infiltrate apartment house, kill some residents
terrorists land boat off downtown tel aviv beach, kill several people in hotel.

And that's just off the top; I'm sure I missed another dozen or so that have occurred.

Jill, I well appreciate your concerns and certainly it pays to be prudent. But would be irresponsible were radio, tv and print to dwell and speculate on the theft of the dynamite with nothing more to go on than that which has been reported. Moreover, you often find that stories such as this have rather banal endings. Let's hope that will be the case.
