John, Thread, RE: "they have the FL Turnpike shut down right now"

Something seems sort of up in the Bay Area tonight, the police are on incredibly high alert tonight. I saw a couple of police teams and a German Shephard dog that was smelling around one of the highway bridges here. The group looked pretty intense. They let the traffic through though so maybe it wasn't that serious.

The police seem to be on very high alert tonight, and since last Saturday. A week ago, on two different highways here, the police actually 'drove' the highway traffic to a complete stop. There seemed to be no reason for it either. In the first case, the police car weaved across the road, winding back and forth, so no one could pass him, and then he slowed his car to a complete stop. The entire highway traffic came to a complete stop. Because there was no visible reason for stopping the traffic, I figured it was a practice drill for the police, just in case they need to stop traffic if there's a terrorist attack. When traffic restarted, I saw a police car on the side of the road and a policeman using a flashlight to look inside an old, abandoned white pickup truck that was parked on the side of the road. I know this may sound funny, but when the police were bringing the highway to a stop without any visible reason, I actually turned my outside air off in my car when it happened - I've never seen a police car take an entire highway's traffic to a complete stop for no apparent reason, so I figured something weird was up.

What's a good A.M. radio station to tune into in the Bay Area to learn about highway news?

Regards,
Amy J
