Jennieann Maffeo, UBS PaineWebber Inc.

New York, Oct. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Jennieann Maffeo, senior
associate in systems development, supporting investment
consulting services, UBS PaineWebber Inc.

Maffeo died yesterday from injuries suffered during the
Sept. 11 attack, Joseph J. Grano Jr., chairman and chief
executive of the securities firm, said in a memo to employees.
Maffeo ``received severe burns while waiting for a bus outside
the World Trade Center on the day of the terrorist attacks and,
until last night, fought nobly at the Cornell Burn Center,''
Grano said. ``She will be greatly missed.''

Maffeo, who lived in Brooklyn, New York, was employed by UBS
PaineWebber for five years and did volunteer work with students
at Thomas Edison School in Union City, New Jersey, as part of a
firm-sponsored Power Lunch reading program, Grano said. She was
also an avid cyclist.

Mass will be held 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27th in Brooklyn.

Maffeo is survived by her mother, father, sister and
brother, Grano said. ``Her family has suffered a great loss, and
our prayers and support are with them,'' he said.
