Interesting concept. I've often thought that colonialism ended much too early and too abruptly. Democracy needed more time to take root.

And the benefits of colonialism are to often downplayed. It is amazing how many Pakistanis and Indians come to the U.S. and rise so quickly. Why? Because they speak English at home, and are familiar with the Anglo-American world, and comfortable in it. The same could be said of Hong Kong.

An Anglo-America-Russian protectorate governing the middle eastern nations would likely, after some initial resentment, immeasurably improve the lives of the people of those regions.
