Nick,

I will look at that site for updates, and come back asap..

The upgrade to W98 sound like a good idea to me, except I have heard, and I really dont know if true, but some Laptops dont take to change very well, and it would be just my luck to screwitup so it becomes FUBAR, know what I mean ?

Thanks
Hal

Nick,
I am looking at that site in the Windows 95 download area and there are so many to chose from, how do I know which one or do I need all of them?

Hal

Edit...
I see service pack 1 is there, now how do I know if this computer has this already or needs it ?

FWIW, Service Pak 1 upgrade for a WIN95 system screwed up my computer so bad, I had to reformat the hard drive. Service Pak 1 has a bad bug in in as far as I'm concerned, and assumes I want IE 6.0, which I DON'T want. What a mess.

I sympathize with the troubles the fellow is having trying to do the latest greatest Microsoft thing. Most older computers with the WIN95 op/sys do NOT have the disk space it takes to operate Millenium SE et al, let alone the ROM needed to upload it and any of the programs t'boot.

Sometimes it is just best to be content with what one has than do the planned obsolesence Microsoft upgrade "thing."
