Now that we've long since forgotten the election crisis, I note that the various recounts conclude that Bush would have won anyway. That doesn't correct the bad things that happened, but it is very fortunate as it avoids some very bad constitutional issues. I must say I was very disappointed with what could be interpreted as partisan behavior by both the Florida Supreme Court and the US Supreme Court during the affair. I was proud, however, of a few of the local judges. I certainly hope that some changes are made before the next election. We don't need to ever see these issues arise again in future elections. Carl
