<morality is just a matter of opinion>

It is a mater of opinion - of the group that holds it. I still think you are confused by relativism. It's not that difficult of a concept. If you believe that something or someone can stand independent of the observation act (whether it is one or many that hold it), then you are believe in absolutes. Since you can't show me such a bias neutral vantage point (and the fact that our universe almost prohibits such absolute points of view), I say no such vantage point exists.

The way you define it most people would be relativists.

Most people are relativists to some extent. I am almost inclined to say that all people are relativists to some extent.

The notion that a relativist believes that morality is a matter of opinion is really pretty absurd; almost as absurd as the notion that without a God, no moral code or code of principles is possible. I don't know why people cling to such notions. I suppose they find them pleasing.
