If some conservative journalist had done such a thing .....well, can you imagine?

In the course of our discussion about the Sullivan piece on gays in the military, someone mentioned that Sullivan was gay and also that he was a conservative. FWIW. I didn't know who he was so I can't add anything to that.

(I have no recollection of any door-handle incident. Perhaps it wasn't reported in the mainstream media.)

I thought your take on the article was accurate myself.

Now there's a surprise.

Gays are sinners, right Greg?

Thanks much, Greg -- I'm fighting a doomed cause here.

I saw your earlier post about Sullivan and the flu. I have no idea, but I'm hoping someone will come through on this, because it sounds like quite a story. This guy is a brilliant writer, whom I never heard of before, but he does seem to be inextricably tied down to a personal agenda.

As to the WTC article of his, the more I think about it, the more I dislike it. Father (?) and the rugger player were true heroes. Indeed, the WTC disaster brought forth some of the most noble and unselfish deeds the world has ever seen, and many more that will never be known. In these deeds we saw humankind at its most magnificent and noble ... a shining hour of “No greater love hath...” selfless, courageous, pure of heart, and virginal. To usurp these saintly stories as illustrations in an article clearly intended to argue a gay (sexual-preference) agenda, does in my opinion demean and trivialize rather than exalt these deeds.

Okay, ladies, I'm retreating to my bunker. You'll need one of those new missiles to get me.
