<That was my speculation as well however Ten posted here a few weeks ago that he didn't think Hyper-Threading added dramatically to the transistor count. Maybe he'll comment again.[edit: he did]> When it was first pitched as an addition to the Willy's core it was estimated to cost an additional 5% of die. But Willy's SMT still doesn't seem to work. By the time they make it relatively bug-free (if ever), it will probably cost an extra 10%. Are Intel engineers "too smart" for their own good again? Kap
