I ended up having to make a choice between saving the environment (1st degree in Geological Sciences) and making a living (2nd degree in Computer Science). I went into health care as opposed to building missiles. The pay is actually better in health care. Funny, but every one can see themselves sick and as such, are willing to pay "insurance" against. Not everyone can see themselves mutated by by trace radiation, organophosphates, PCBs, or PVC monomers and these very same people don't see the costs of environment protection as just another form of insurance. Go figure.

ROFL
I guess I was on the "wrong" side.
I always wanted to work for Greenpeace when I was young.
But I'm such an agnostic. I can't really crusade for anything. I can advocate. I can support other people who crusade. But I can often see the other position (at least the MODERATE side of the other position) too clearly to get really exercised about anything. And I think to work for nothing you have to be very passionate.

So perhaps I just didn't want it badly enough.

We support Greenpeace too, btw. Although I can't say I agree with everything they do. I don't think I can think of any group I agree with 100%. So I will always be the lone relativist utilitarian agnostic.

WAIT- the Nature Conservancy- I agree with everything they do. YAY- I thought of a group. I'm so happy.
