We are giving the governments of Iraq and Saudi Arabia money which they in turn pass on to those who kill our own citizens and others. We can't keep doing this. Yes you are right. That's why we need to reinstate all of the Oil Independence initiatives that the Big-Oil administrations of Reagan and Bush I & II have killed, so that we can finally achieve independence from the Middle Eastern oil governments who were helped to power by Bush's CIA. [ASIDE: Why did the CIA arm, train, and fund bin Laden, the Taliban, Khaddafi, and Saddam Hussein, anyway? Why did Reagan's people budget $500 million per year for arming the Taliban and bin Laden in the 1980s? Any guesses? Because we wanted to replace the old governments with new governments that were beholden to us, right? Because our Oil people who ran the CIA wanted more power over oil production, distribution, and marketing. Then of course, once we had our puppets in place, Reagan shut down funding for alternative energy research. And was anybody listening when Cheney said that while alternative energy is a good idea but more research is needed, while Bush Jr was simultaneously recommending that congress slash that very research?] Most of us, besides a few fringe big-oil fanatics who happen to run this country, really want independence not just from Middle Eastern oil, but from ALL oil. You and I can help by thinking before we vote. And government can launch a huge, earnest alternative energy R&D program, while pushing massive conservation efforts. And our big-oil CIA can stop arming, funding, and training terrorists in the Middle East. But none of that is going to happen. Dave
