The case for WCDMA taking 80% of mobile wireless looks weaker.

At some point it will be clear that for at least the next 5 years, the name of the game for mobile wireless is CDMA 2000 in all its variations. WCDMA (or the laughling named UMTS) will be islands in a sea of residual legacy GSM (with some GPRS and possibly EDGE) and with CDMA 2000 extending its reach.

Opinion only of course, but based on a bit of observation and thought.
