Its different for US.

For the rest of the world, its business as usual.

Their sensitivites haven't changed as a result of 911. Neither have their royalty, their egos, their likes and dislikes. Saudi and Pakistan govts are, in fact, selling their loyalties to US right now. Their public is against them, and yet they are going out on a limb. Now don't say they owe us, coz they do but would US govt ever go against such strong public opinion ?

Oh of course they're not true democracies. But they're stil vulnerable to public opinion.....

You KNOW how I HATE them! But I can see how it would have pissed off a whole nation.....and you don't want them any madder than they already are...

One of the things Bush needs to do is hire a few third world, non aligned people to advise him of the customs and culture of the East...I could be persuaded....
