Thomas, I think that understanding of the life cycle of technology is quite solidly justified, well beyond just liking it. My guess is that understanding and how to use it in the future to practical advantage is no more solidly justified than valuation. (Witness Johnson's misapplication of the metrics.) I think the reason most people might think it's more solidly justified is because they like it, not that they like it because it's more solidly justified. --Mike Buckley
