No doubt that we have power to exert that they can never match. My point was I didn't see us resorting to terrorism... not that it would help any. What you suggest could easily lead to all out war with multiple countries. I'm at a loss to determine how that would all end. Maybe the 'right' thing to do will come to that. Personally, I think they would blink first if we showed them we weren't kidding "this time". I guess the Gulf War showed the world what can be done. Even if specific threats or actions caused the 'governments' of some nations to walk the walk and really shut down terrorism, unless there is fundamental change to how these countries are governed, don't you think it will just continue? Are we up to instilling democracies all over the world? Think I will go back to programming or something less challenging to think about, for a while!
