Your point?... LOL!! Why put off til tomorrow, what would be easier to accomplish today?? And I hope folks don't think I'm kidding either.. If I have to fight it, I'll go. The issue at hand is that unless we're willing to be forceful with our principles now (ie: don't attack us or our people), then we'll always be vulnerable to fear. Unless we obtain "closure" as a nation, we'll feel like rape or mugging victims for the rest of our lives, always looking over our shoulders for who's going to attack us next. What's more important is that the US has shown it has the power to literally pull the pants around their economic ankles, leaving them impotent and facing massive of hungry people with no means of fighting. We also have the ability to turn various nations against one another to do the fighting for us (after all, this is a religious civil war for control over the muslim world) What's more important is that the world's most populace nations recognize the threat that extremist Islam presents and are so far in agreement as to the course of action (China being the wildcard) the US has taken. What's more, they would love to see this threat removed at US expense and their not having to pay a dime. Btw, I don't believe in "installing" democracies. I believe in creating the conditions for their growth. I believe that if you aren't willing to fight for it, you probably don't deserve it (and you don't have to do it violently). But in some circumstances, such as Japan and Germany, we've seen the previous orders replaced to varying degrees with democratic institutions. But to tell you the truth, I really don't trust the strength of democratic institutions in Japan. Too much of an institutionalized "good old boy" system there. Hawk
