It's obvious Ron has a system and isn't worried about the actual funding position of MCLD. It seems like he knows very little about the business, and what's more doesn't care. You're right - the positive EBITDA, coupled with what seems to be (I hope) a more aggressive attempt on the part of the company to educate analysts and institutions that a CLEC is not a dot.com or a telecom vendor, may start to distinguish MCLD from the obvious failures (TGNT) and those teetering on the edge (MFNX). Ron's "system" can be expected to work until investors finally wake up (or get educated) to the fact that MCLD and XOXO have an unparalleled set of assets and finally have the mass to compete more effectively with the RBOCs. The RBOCs now have the tricky problem of retiring copper and replacing it with fiber, as sophisticated business customers with high bandwidth demands start shifting their business to fiber-based providers. XOXO and MCLD always said it would take somewhere between 7 to 10 years to become profitable, simply because of the massive CAPEX involved with building a fiber network, and because the RBOCs were going to do all they could to delay interconnection and getting fiber into buildings.
