ROFL, that's probably why I've never heard it (or never realised if I have).

Except for one tiny point... one reason for the popular feeling against it is that the tune is slow, turgid and either brassy or tinny depending on production... that's why I'd be so happy losing it!
National anthems are surely best when stirring and attractive to listen to - the French one I find superb (especially when sung as in Casablanca <g>), but the US anthem isn't far behind... even if the high notes are a bit of a stretch. :)
