Merrill Lynch now says the recovery will be 3Q02, not 2Q02.

Just last night TXN said that they believed the bottom would be Q3/Q4 of this year, not next. This implies that our recovery will begin in Q1CY02, not two to three more quarters out as ML seems to believe.

I agree completely, but I am clueless about how good.

Semi orders are starting to improve, so there is a contest between slightly positive orders and slightly negative sales and earnings. I think price movement will be in reaction to non-economic news. It is possible that the January earnings period will begin the next move up, so we may only have the 4th quarter for cheap accumulation.
