It isn't bogus in the abstract, in the areas that ethics touches on metaphysics. However it's practical difference can often be minor. I think the WTC attack was wrong in my absolutist framework. Solon and X think it wrong in their relativist one. All of us think it was wrong. We would all condemn it and seek ways to keep it from happening again whether we do so because of our views on morality, for practical benefit, on a whim, or because of some view about what knowledge is known about what precepts make for the smooth operation of society.
