Bill, "if they get 250 dice from a wafer and the wafer costs them 5,000 that is $20 each." To my recollection, the cost of processed wafer was below $2500 some time ago. But being more concervative with regard to overall yield, your estimation of $20/die sounds right to me. Regards, - Ali

that is why there is such an aggravation at the Korean governments/banks propping up Hynix while Micron burns cash. Hey Bill, I'm sure you're unbiased enough to realize that the U.S. is as good as anyone at this game. Airlines ($15 big ones!!!), steel, software engineers' salaries... When the Americans are beating the foreigners, it's called protectionism. When the foreigners are beating the Americans, it's called dumping, slave labour wages, or something else that sounds unfair.
