And though there are areas that would still stay liberal (I would hope or I'd have to come out against gay marriage <g>), it is another link to community in being that much more concerned about schools, safe areas for kids, and so on. More concern with buying a home and making ties. And as one person put it .. "people who want to stop gay sex should promote gays adopting. Nothing puts a quicker end to sex". That was a guy who had adopted. The idea is "radical" because it is change in the norm. But in many ways it is quite old-fashioned.

Marriage and kids certainly helped move me away from my wilder and more liberal ways.

Really? I've heard that before.

For me, it just helped those liberal ways surface and begin to work. I've loved every minute of bringing up my kids to be thoughtful liberals, imbued with a sense of social responsibility and their own strength as women.
