"And the impression was shared by quite a few posters....."

This thread?? ....surprise, surprise....:-)....to hear folks around here talk about it, one would think the camera spent more time on Hillary than Bush.....the whole thing is silly...

"Check this letter to the President out and note the members who signed it."

I only recognize about half of the signers and know them as coming from the school of the old Cold Warriors....
I agree Saddam is dangerous but only so far as he can export terrorism or materials....but he has already shown that he is not willing to become a "matyr" and will protect his own ass at any cost to his people. He is not a military threat to anyone. I also disagree with the general premise of the letter. To drive Saddam out means we would probably have to occupy the country which would create a very complicated and dangerous situation. What would be your strategy, vis-a-vis this letter....??

Thanks for posting that Micheal. Clinton was warned but like Mr. Shepard, he thought he knew better. Actually, I think he knew these things to be true but cared more about not upsetting the economy thus mortgaging the future to be paid later, which is now.

Not pressing the issue of the UN weapons inspectors being removed from Iraq was a huge blunder on the part of Clinton. It is widely believed that Iraq has small pox virus, the import of which seems to lost on many here.
