You obviously don't know me. "Joking" is putting it mildly. I think the American people are being led like sheep to a slaughter. I used to think that the hefty corrections the market has had in certain sectors might stop this. But now, I envision a time when we will actually see people jumping out of windows, old people dropping dead from heart failure, brokers and bankers getting beat up and shot, businesses in ruin, people in bread lines. The gluttony and worship of the almighty dollar will spawn much pain. What has been sown will be reaped. Retirements will disappear. Children will cry. People will go hungry. Law abiding citizens will turn to crime. Wives will leave husbands. Wailing and gnashing of teeth will be commonplace. Homes will be left empty. Government assistance will rise to more than 25% of the population. Cars will stop running. Financial television personalities will take their own lives. Educational degrees will be burned. Electricity will stop flowing in tens of thousands of homes. Banks will go broke one after another. Major car companies will go belly up. Airlines will be bailed and then go broke anyway. Many will wish they had a horse and knew how to ride. Ordinary citizens will form small gun-toting groups for survival. America will be brought to its knees. Does this sound like joking? Maybe. Maybe not. I've got to take some more pain medication. These visions take a lot out of me.

I remain,

SOROS
