They have no nukes. Are you suggesting that the WESPAC ships disarm when they go there? Think again.

I am reminded of two useful expressions:

1] Great victories make for bad peaces.

Lessons were learned from the apparent consequences of the treaty of Versailles. Hence our investment in the rebuilding of our enemies real estate and economies. Smart. Cheap.

2] In for a penny, in for a pound.

Lately we seemed to have neglected the lessons learned. We satisfy short-term goals and neglect our long-term self interest. Follow through is less expensive than the consequences of dealing with what is now called blow back..

there are governments in the middle east with plenty of money but not much by way of military power much less integrity. Like it not, we are saddled with that power and I hope we have the integrity.

Oh jeez I don't know. I'm just some fortunate white guy benefitting from accidents of birth, trying to understand.

Been reading a lot lately about how people stay alive in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

It's perhaps no wonder that so many look to a God that will promise heaven to escape hell on earth by way of allegedly noble, certainly suicidal and decidedly hateful causes.
