Legislate it? Why bother when the courts do such a good job?

But the trends are against it. Demographically, for example, it is mainly the more conservative groups in society who are having children.

Which conservatives? The Cubans? The Muslims? The illegal Mexicans?

Finally, why would the majority vote itself out of power?


I still think you're making a fine theoretical argument, one that is likely beyond the comprehension of most of those voters upon whom you are relying, even assuming that they were inclined to consider the matter at all.

Perhaps you're talking about the voters who, in polls, have indicated that they wouldn't approve the Bill of Rights if faced with it in a referendum.
