I think the process and the voters are enough to keep a statist agenda or one of special group favors, "rights" and privileges, from advancing too quickly, but I worry that such things may advance slowly with one step back for every two forward.

You are aware that whites won't be a majority in this country pretty soon, I presume. I don't think that trend can be ignored in one's projections.
