Why are you suggesting that we won't recover? I never said or implied that.

Of course we'll recover. Sure, just as the grinning New Economy bozoes thought that the exuberance of the bubble days were here forever, the depths of this recession will be accompanied by bears who will predict that equities are dead (aside: until you hear that at least once, you can bet we haven't bottomed yet). But those bears will be just as wrong as the "johnds" were. I'm not one of those bears.

But Greenspan will not be our savior this time. Look to Japan to see how ineffective his rate cutting measures will be over the next several years.
