Richard,

Don't know which usa time zone you is in, but i think its one
or two hours earier than my east coast, and add to this that
the Nightline with Ted Koppel just ended with him talking to
the Postmaster General, which i take as the boss man.

ok, incase Nightline is done later for your area and not live
as its done here, i have a quick comment.

First, i missed the first 15 minutes, but its on tape for my viewing
later. Second, this man spoke like a politician that done wrong
and is telling the folks that he needs to get re-elected the same
kind of crap words that have agenda to keep his recent actions
in a spin mode so that he is "clean."

Something like
"... mistakes were made... many mistakes, but when i made
all these mistakes i did so with the "i am correct" attitude,
so now that all those actions i took while correct at the time
are now identified as mistakes, the point is that at the time
they were "correct" and now i feel that i can not obtain any
punishment for doing mistakes because i did "correct" things
that were only later found out not.

garbage, and Ted-ie Koppel is just another "criminal" mainstream
news person getting bit in his @ss with reality for all those years
letting the politicial song & dance be accepted for broadcast.

Not good, but in a limited off manner "Great to see."

You comments in your post

"... recommend shutting down the postal system nationwide
until a plan is put in place that at New York Postmaster will
recommend shutting down the postal system nationwide
until a plan is put in place that..."

For sure the last 1/2 of this program had the Postmaster General
only talk the talk to keep his job, meaning not to blame others
in the government system that caused him to make mistakes.

enough, as the decision what will happen to the usa mail system
and most likely FedX etc is already being implemented by those
terrorist as they unfold their attack usa plans.

Once again in my opinion the only message coming from my
federal government leaders in regards to homeland security
is a cover-up of the fact that this and past administrations have
NOT done the job intrusted upon them as elected federal officials
based on the letter and spirit of what made America great.

So we all wait, and if i'm in error with my take, then good.

doug

The government has been totally inept in this whole thing. We knew that there was anthrax years ago. It should have been recommended that we have anthrax detectors installed in every post office in the nation. We must now install radiation equipment at all incoming postal locations. Diane Ream on NPR thinks that that may cause a real severe problem with radiation sickness among all postal employees, but what is worse. Radiation or anthrax? We must be informed. We are only using the post office personnel as cannon fodder.

Since we lost thousands of people to flu last year, maybe we can put flu detectors in all our schools, and in all our government buildings. They are of course the most important.

This anthrax thing is totally being blown out of proportion. I know that having three dead is not a good thing, and we need to address from where it is coming from, but there are really much worse things going on in the world.

Oh, for another Gary Condit story! Before I get a major blast, most of this is tongue in cheek.
