Richard,
We keep bombing with 10 F19's while millions die here because we are better that they are. Unbelievable to me. Lets put our faith in the Northern Alliance i guess. So after your kids, grandkids friend and relatives are gone I guess you will take solace in the fact that we are better than they are? Glad you are not in command.
I guess deterrence in the cold war was wrong too. In your scenario they would have attacked and won long ago. We should never have deterred or deterred and lied by not responding in the end like a bluff in a poker game. You guys got me talking to myself. I will set up a thread just for me i think. I cant take this silliness from folks who are so smart. Brians a pacifist so i understand. You guys are just weird. mike

Using nukes is a deterrent. In Russia this summer they reminded me that the US is the only country to ever use nukes. And it hit me that that is precisely the point. Using them shows that you have the guts to do it and may do it again. Maybe you are that NFL middle linebacker with the craxy look in his eyes. One not to be fooled with. There are other weapons that are just as dangerous as nukes, maybe more so. Remember the fire bombing of Dresden and Hannover. A German described it to me in one word - "Kaput!"
