Actually, the only hint that Intel gave for a goal was when an analyst asked if Intel would reach >50% Pentium 4 sales before the end of the year (not the end of last quarter). Paul Otellini responded that it would be far more than that. According to Elmer, Intel reached 50% in October, already.

50% of what? I think Intel said that P4 exceeded Piii at the end of the quarter, which means that P4 > 50% of (Piii + P4). But Intel also sells Celeron, Xeon, notebooks. 50% of all PC CPU has not been achieved yet, which is what the Russian web site was referring to.
