That sure was a close vote. Do you know specifically what the Democrats and even some Republicans objected to?

Tend to agree with you here. I understand the argument that the rich are pretty good at using the money for the benefit of society. Indeed I would rather see Bill Gates with the money than the bureaucrats in Washington. However that being said, the middle class should get a bigger piece of the action with those who contribute nothing getting nothing.

yo flapjaw,it is the rich you despise who pay 95% of the tax that schleps like you seem to think the money should somehow be coming your way for some reason.Perhaps you could explain why those who do not pay tax should get relief, and why those who pay the lions share are not entitled to the same benefit........I will never understand why folks like you are still here in the good old US of A when Russia and China are more in line with your politics, please explain the meaning of rich, just a $ figure of yearly income will suffice.....gosh your life must be hard.........

I've not had much time to study what was approved but I know if the margin you report is correct, the bill as passed, will look much different after it leaves the SEnate and hits the President's desk. AS a rule though, anything that takes less money out of peoples pockets and gives it to Washington to piss away and pander for votes is great.
We come from such different poles on these issues. I doubt either of us will change anyones minds.

It passed. That's a win. And that's all that counts....
