Hi Harry,

I am convinced more than ever that we will hit 3400-3800 sometime next year. However, we might have run up little too fast here. I will be staring at the dark side tomorrow.

Without the sign of recovery stocks are rallying here... so when the sign of recovery (feb/apr) shows up and then the actual recovery (june??) NAS and the greed will be in full bloom only to be chopped off in (Oct??) by the reality that the sustainable growth will be muted to about 15 to 20% for the best of the companies.

Later,

Suresh

CORV CC Notes from CORV SI Thread:

Conference Call Minutes:
1. Strong customer relations, Strong R&D for new products. And strong financial numbers

2. Cash burn rate and operation cost reduced. Current cash balance $715m and will exit 2001 with cash $650 million.

3. R/D expenditure $35 million. 20-30% gross margin.

4. Product certification for substantial purchase orders from Qwest will complete 4-th quarter and will start shipping 2001Q4 or 2002Q1.

5. The new product line of CorWave Optical Convergence Switch (OCS) that extends Corvis' network core to the network edge has been progressing well and will be commercially available in Q1 2002 as planned. (The OCS is the new generation of switches on the edge -- competing head on with Ciena.)

6. Current head count 1270.

Under current situation, it’s hard to have a vision about future. Everybody in the industry – JDSUniphase, Corning, Nortel, Avici, … is feeling the pinch and miserable.

However, at least, Corvis is helping the carrier customers saving money, resources, and the time to provision new services -- that’s the writing on the wall – everybody in the industry is taking notice.

Corvis is still the top gun in its turf. And the carries might well be coming -- Corvis' way

*************************

[Harry: I have not had a chance to hear the call, but based on LMNE guidance as to the lack of demand for long haul, TELM comments about demand being more focused on SONET like switching for the older existing infrastructure, and AVNX's guidance on a focus on newer more cost effective products that would shift the economics to be more viable, CORV had to say they were seeing traction from new customers to rally, and have a resonable expectation of a near term uptick in guidance to get this stock to move out of its range. The rally today on the COMPX may change that as I expect most people expected them to miss, but I don't expect the price to move much further. ]
