Mike's got these official looking (but apparently from Compaq) slides at theinquirer.net , showing McKinley in 2003, Madison in 2004. There was some leakage at aces' recently, that somebody pointed out here, which seemed to indicate that McKinley, at least, wasn't going to be all that awe-inspiring in performance either.

Re: "The problem is that Merced was demoing and sampling a very, very long time before it was finally released. With x86 processors, this time frame seems to be a routine and relatively short thing."

Funny -- AMD claimed to have dual AthWipers running in June 1999 - and didn't release production units until mid-2001.

You call this a "relatively short thing." - or are you just ignoring it because it was AMD?
