ST trading and cars on ice:

I told you not to do that (press your short). (vbg, or vsg). If it hits 40, what will you do? Press it, again, as 40 looks to be strong resistance, for a number of reasons? Or cover?

FWIW, I re-entered a limit sell order at 40. This would be the lot I bought at 32.5, and leave me still holding what I bought at 30 and 27.5

I'm going to be very surprised if we are able to sustain a move over 40. That would represent a 50% upmove off the lows, just this month. That's too far, too fast. Some of that has to be given back, at least temporarily, so it ought to be possible to make money shorting it. Notice, though, I'm not trying to.

Well, it's off to buy a new car, my wife's (early) Christmas present. Anyone has any advise on whose SUV will do better, on ice on a steep slope, around a hairpin turn (her morning commute)? And, if it gets a bit above freezing temporarily, so the ice melts a bit, we're driving on an inclined surface of ice and a layer of water on top (a nearly frictionless surface). Add the fact of no shoulders, deep drainage ditches (so when there is an upside-down SUV in it, you can only see the wheels). I'm thinking either a Subaru or a Toyota.

I sold xxxx shares today at close. Pushed my cash position to above 50%, locking in these gains into the CD account.

YTD I'm up 32%, and it is setting in cash, while year to date I've only 16 more share of stock now than I did on 01-02-01, the gains are in cash/CD.

Although I won't actually short a stock, taking the cash of the table is my way of shorting.

:0)

Thanks, Stock Heaven, but you still have a lot of my dead money soles up there in heaven that I want back.

Stan
