Are you talking about the former colony of Australia?, Canada?, South Africa?, America?

Just what present day colony are you talking about? I know of none that has not been independent for many years.

For Africa Colonialism was period of peace and prosperity, compare to what they have now. Just from today:

Or may be you thinking that Afghanistan under British rule was worse of than they are today? Or Iraq. Sudan was British Colony. That is some extreme example of suffering.
