RE:"I assume you mean normal folks, not "Sheeple". It's my understanding that XP is a much more stable operating system, with a few more features. Most of the questions have been asked and answered. Are you saying that people shouldn't upgrade, for fear of being termed "Sheeple"?"

Pretty much normal people...especially when you consider most buyers don't know one OS from another...
OTOH, if you have WinME you should definitely upgrade...

RE:"In offices, you probably have quite a few W2K, my guess is not too much home use. Linux is a non-issue wrt market size. W98, why not upgrade.

I agree...

RE:"Even Walt Mossberg, the ultimate Microsoft curmudgeon, sort of recommended XP." OK...

RE:"You sold your Microsoft?" no

Most anti MS sentiment comes from their domination and exclusion of other developers. I imagine lawsuits to this effect will continue.
I really don't care for Ballmer (Uncle Fester as TMF calls him).

John - Re: "Even Walt Mossberg, the ultimate Microsoft curmudgeon, sort of recommended XP."

Huh?

You must never have heard of Dan Gillmor - the COMMUNIST jackal on the San Jose Mercury News.

He hates Microsoft even more than Intel !

Just what the Valley needs - Editors who trash the successful companies - many of which do a LARGE business in the Valley.
