At some moment of my trading career I did something of this kind that helped me to change my mindset. Here is what I did:

I looked through all my trading records for 6 months from the point of view: what my account would be if I kept 1/4 stop on ALL trades that went against me, both eventual losers and those that came back. Result was like blast of the bomb in my head. My account would be double vs what it was. That taught me once and for all: waiting for them to return is statistically losing proposition. Those that do return will not cover losses caused by those that don't. Not even close. Cured since then :)
