WC,
My connected friend has an ex-marine buddy and he tells me that we are looking forward to the winter in afghanistan. We have the tools to fight effectively with special forces against an enemy without shoes. Our guys have been doing winter training for years in mountainous areas.
Also cave hunkerers now have to light fires for heat and are trapped in close quarters by the snow. Mobile phone detection and infra red sensors will pick them up more easily(perhaps). Cabin fever Osama? We shall see. I think that there is a chance that they may try(or have already left) to make a break for it before winter begins. Look for a 6'4" afghan woman on the run. mike

I think the American people have the staying power. Just as we had "Remember Pearl Harbor" in WWII, now we have "Remember 9/11." It is the media that don't get it yet. I was glad to see a guest on one of the discussion shows yesterday (Fox News or MSNBC) saying "Let's not talk ourselves into thinking we have to give up if we don't get quick results," or words to that effect.

Will, probably the first step toward better national security will be a National ID Card. It will be optional at first and then be a necessity. I belive that a lot of counties that have many illegal migrants to this country will be opposed. I believe that both Mexico and China benefit by the monies sent back home by these workers.

Regards, Jerome
