Did America help Afghanistan by helping it fight off Soviet imperialists? Or did America hurt Afghanistan by inciting it into a devastating war with the Soviets? Brzezinski says it was the second scenario.

<<< According to President Carter’s National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, the US got involved in mid 1979. Do you remember, just to put the dates right, that Russia invaded Afghanistan in December 1979. Ok. According to Brzezinski, the US support for the mojahedin fighting against the government began 6 months earlier. He is very proud of that. He says we drew the Russians into, in his words, an Afghan trap, by supporting the mojahedin, getting them to invade, getting them into the trap. >>>

I gotta admit. You might be on to something:...Pentagon admitted bombing...

Can you provide evidence that the Taliban has not confiscated that complex and posses it? Keeping those supplies away from the public, to be used by the Taliban only? I don't care how many times a Taliban truck filled with anti tank weapons pulls in there...we should bomb it everytime.

Could it be that we're trying to starve these damn Afghans?

The Taliban is starving them. We couldn't do it if we tried.
Oh yes...all those new food supplies we're dumping there are trying to starve the people of Afghanistan. The Taliban would never poison the food. Or tell the people it's poisoned. Nope...

...one of the linchpin reasons for our invasion of Viet Nam was for a futile effort at securing an illusory resource.

And that's why when we bombed Hanoi Harbor. The North SURRENDERED TO US. We told them they couldn't surrender to us. That's why anytime we wanted, we would roll over any of the North that we wanted. But we didn't. That information given to me by South Vietnamese
Now why would tactics like that be? It couldn't ever be that we wanted the South to win. It couldn't be that we were only trying to help them win. Why not just destroy the North ourselves? Why not give our fighters orders to fire back at any ground to air defenses the North had? Gee...we really wanted those VAST oil reserves. It couldn't have had anything to do with fighting communism and helping the South establish a Democracy in Vietnam...nope...couldn't be that...
