Jerome, I don't know if you ever lived in Israel, but I can assure you that after 100 years of Arab terror against the Jewish population in Israel, today is the safest it has ever been. Death from highways accidents is still a more likely way "to go" in Israel than from terror activities. You are in a very small minority that states that Israel "Assassinate" its neighbors, Israel is doing what the PA was supposed to do according to every single agreement signed by the two sides, arrest or eliminate active murdering terrorists. It is no different then actions we take here in the US to control our own internal right (or left) extremists armed "militia". When they can catch these alive they do, when they don't they catch them dead. It is the job of the government to protect its citizens and provide for their security, just as it is the job of the US government to protect its citizens and bring the people that brought down the WTC to justice, "Dead or Alive". "In American and World opinion" I think this is your opinion and that of the Arab nations! Only ignorant people place such generalized statements. "Israel is a much less safe place than it was 10, 15 or 20 years ago" Have you been to Israel lately? It is quite safe. Israel knows who her enemies are and her intelligence is one of the best in the world. You only hear of the suicide bombers that got away, but did you know that every day they catch suicide bombers before they are able to cause harm? It is much easier to protect a country knowing who her enemies are than looking for the unknown... "I would rate the current Israeli policies a complete failure. They are managing to antagonize both their opposition and their American supporters" Obviously your rating does not count for much as I am sure you rate your knowledge as high. You would be surprised what goes on behind closed doors. You really think United States respects and feels Saudi Arabia is fully cooperating with them when A large number of the Hijackers were Saudi born? The Palestinians do not want for the State of Israel to exist as I am sure many do not. However, The Jewish people were here for centuries and will remain so for the next many....... My parents and grandparents fought in the Haganna (Israeli underground). I know what the country is made of. It is here to stay! Ossnat
