There is never an appropriate excuse for violence. The people who died in this tragedy did not deserve to die; that goes without saying. But, we reap what we sow. Over the years, our government has supported corrupt regimes because it was politically expedient. The Taliban was one of these. Many of the weapons they are now using were supplied by the US. Unless we recognize this simple fact and urge our government to change their ways, Sept. 11th will likely be repeated in the future, although next time probably by another corrupt regime. But admitting our weakness is a first step to change; too few people are willing to do so. Brian
