Robert: "Intel has something to show for it - AMD unprofitability, and more difficulty for them to fund future expansions, R&D, fab upgrades etc." Maybe, but doesn't AMD already own a world leading fab and is there any need for any expansion in the near term? For sure, INTC execs would have hoped that such a huge negative turn in net income in such a short time span would have resulted in something more than P4 which remains in its chronic care unit.
